Title: Causal Parametrices and Lorentzian spectral geometries
Abstract: We report on our recent progress to generalize Connes' Noncommutative Geometry to Lorentzian and in particular globally hyperbolic (noncommutative) manifolds. In this latter case, the Dirac- and Klein Gordon equation possess a well posed "initial value problem", even though time does not necessarily commute with the spatial coordinates. Moreover our approach implies a generalization of several techniques from microlocal analysis to noncommutative spacetimes. We shall briefly comment on the possible applicabiltiy of our notion for the construction of background independent quantum field theories over noncommutative geometries a la Connes.
